Updates And Changes For 2024 GMC Models
The GMC lineup of vehicles is stronger than ever, from Sierra all the way down to Acadia. With unrivaled luxury, excellent amenities, and brilliant safety and technology features, it’s also never been a better time to buy a brand-new GMC. Every automaker adds subtle updates and upgrades to their lineup year after year, and GMC has added a few things that customers will enjoy. Let us break it down for you.
2024 GMC Acadia
The 2024 Acadia is all-new and brings customers a larger vehicle with more space and capacity for passengers and all of their gear.
A new 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 is standard across the range and gives the Acadia 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 100 horsepower and 68 torque over the outgoing 2-liter turbo-4, and 18 horses and 55 torque compared to the optional 3.6-liter V6. Maximum towing capacity also increases from 4,000 up to 5,000 lbs.
The top-of-the-line Denali trim is now more luxurious than ever, and an AT4 trim level with more ground clearance and off-road credentials is available. The all-wheel drive system has been tweaked and all-terrain tires are now standard on the AT4 model.
For the first time, the advanced hands-free driver-assistance system, Super Cruise, is now available, along with many other advanced safety features.
Standard on all models is an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and 15-inch infotainment touchscreen display.
2024 GMC Terrain
The Terrain gets new exterior color options, and GMC Safety Pro Plus is now optional on SLE and SLT and standard on AT4. The Safety Pro Plus package includes Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alerts, and rear parking sensors.
2024 GMC Canyon
Canyon AT4X models now offer Baja driving mode with launch control. The AT4X AEV Edition comes to the Canyon. It brings an extra 1.5 inches of ground clearance for a total of 12.2, 35-inch mud-terrain tires with beadlock capable wheels, steel stamped front and rear bumpers, five new boron steel skid plates, plus auxiliary control switches that you can use to add power to extra lights, among other things.
2024 GMC Sierra
There are new exterior color and wheel options available for the 2024 Sierra. However, the biggest news is that all Sierra models now have a 5-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. The 2.7-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder is now called TurboMax.
The off-road-ready AT4X is now standard with the Duramax turbo-diesel, and a new active exhaust system is available for SLT, AT4, and Denali models.
2024 GMC Sierra EV
Buyers looking for an all-electric truck will be excited to see the debut of the Sierra EV this year. The MultiPro Midgate allows for the cab’s interior to be opened up to give the truck a longer bed, with part of the cargo in the backseat area of the truck.
The Denali Edition 1 will have the most luxurious interiors with a 16.8-inch touchscreen display. This top-of-the-line truck also has an engine that produces 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque with its Max Power mode. Towing is estimated to be 9,500 lbs. The Sierra EV will have about 400 miles of max range with the ability to recharge 100 miles in just 10 minutes when using a 350-kW DC fast charger. Four-wheel steering, CrabWalk, adjustable suspension, and Super Cruise are all available features.
Sierra EV models will also have a 10.2-kW off-boarding power station, allowing owners to export power from their truck to other things, such as a house, during a power outage.
2024 GMC Sierra HD
Refreshes come to both 2500 and 3500 HD models with new front designs, wheels, and exterior paint options. SLE and higher trim levels get new interior styling.
The brand-new AT4X and Denali Ultimate models add more for buyers looking to purchase a Heavy Duty Sierra pickup.
The standard 6.6-liter V8 is attached to a new 10-speed automatic transmission. The optional 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel has more power and torque throughout the rev range, with the max 470 horsepower arriving at 2,800 rpm and a full 975 lb-ft of torque coming in at just 1,600 rpm. This gives HD models 25% more low-end torque.
A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen display, and a 15-inch head-up display round out the interior tech upgrades and new advanced towing technology. More safety features are now standard as well.
2024 GMC Yukon
While there are no updates or upgrades for the 2024 model year, a complete refresh is coming to the 2025 GMC Yukon line next year.
