Stronger 3.0-Liter Duramax Diesel Optional Across Entire 2025 GMC Yukon Lineup

The 2025 GMC Yukon gets a nice refresh and set of updates that make sure the big GMC is number one in buyers’ hearts. For the 2025 model year, buyers will continue to be able to select the optional 3.0-liter I-6 Duramax turbodiesel, this time across the whole trim lineup—including AT4 and AT4 Ultimate—for the first time, and with added power and torque.  

Trim Levels 

This extra power and torque in the Duramax isn’t all that’s new and refreshed on the 2025 GMC Yukon. The Yukon will be available in five different trim levels, including Elevation, AT4, AT4 Ultimate, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. The Elevation trim takes the place of both the SLT and SLE trim levels from previous-model years, and AT4 Ultimate joins as a new trim. Pricing has yet to be announced.  

All-New Touchscreen Tech 

While the exterior styling has made the Yukon more ruggedly luxurious, what GMC did on the inside is really special. A 16.8-inch infotainment touchscreen allows users to customize and control everything from navigational maps, audio inputs, to vehicle diagnostics, and much more. An 8.0-inch touchscreen that controls the rear passengers’ climate control is also available.  

Engines, Power, Torque, and Availability  

All Yukon models will still be powered by the same dependable engines as always, including the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s plus the 3.0-liter Duramax. Power, torque, and trim level availability is listed below.  

5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque 

• Standard on: Elevation and AT4 

6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque 

• Standard on AT4 Ultimate, Denali, Denali Ultimate 

• Optional on AT4 

3.0-liter Duramax diesel with improved 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque 

• Optional on all trims for the first time 

All-new Safety Features 

New unique and advanced safety features such as Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert, and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking will add extra layers of protection to driver, passengers, and all other vehicles on the road. Coupled with Super Cruise, the ultimate Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that allows for true hands-free driving on more than 750,000 miles of roads in the United States and Canada, the new Yukon will be the envy of the competition. For the first time on any vehicle in America, customers will also be able to use Super Cruise to go hands-free when towing.  

Brand New Safer Towing Features 

Speaking of towing, the 2025 Yukon can tow up to 8,400 pounds when properly equipped. New towing technologies available will include Blind Zone Steering Assist, Transparent Trailer View, Trailer Reverse Trajectory, Trailer Tire Health, and Jackknife Alert to assist in making sure that it’s easier for drivers of all towing expertise to do so more safely.
