GMC Sierra Bed Accessories Add Storage Solutions

The cargo box of a pickup truck is just that, a box. It is much better for carrying big things than little things. The little things can bounce and slide around the bed, requiring you to strap them down. In addition, it is a box without a top, so anything in there is not secure if you have to leave your truck and its load. Fortunately, GMC has hundreds of accessories to make your truck bed work as needed. These can be as simple as a net that straps to side hooks to keep items from sliding around. Speaking of sliding, there is even a full-size sliding bed available that can make loading and unloading extra easy.  You will also find several full-width toolboxes, safety racks protecting your rear window, bedside rails, soft and hard tonneau covers, and countless other items.

A Pickup Pegboard

For 2024, GMC has added a new bed accessory that can significantly add utility for the right user. The Utility Wall Package consists of metal grates that mount on the front and side of the bed, allowing you to attach anchors anywhere on the grate. You can then bungee or rubber strap any number of items anywhere you want against the surface. Think of it as a pegboard that is designed to be mobile and thus secure items in place regardless of bumps and turns. 

Tagged with RPO code PCO, the Utility Wall Package is designed for the Sierra Crew Cab Short Bed configuration. The option costs $1,495 and includes the following (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

• Bedside Utility Wall Package (RVY)
• Utility Wall Latch Kit (5WI)
• Front Bed Utility Wall Package (SJS)

If you don’t need quite that many mounting panels, they can also be purchased separately for the front bed wall, left side, and right side. A drop-in bedliner (VZX) is another new bed accessory for 2024, though the bedliner and Utility Wall Package are not compatible with each other.
