Which Car Companies are Collaborating on This Project?

Now, you’re probably wondering, “Which car companies are collaborating on this project?” In addition to GM, the other parties involved are as follows: BMW Group, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz Group, and Stellantis NV. Needless to say, these are some of the best business partners in the entire automotive industry. With a lineup like this, anything is possible. Of course, this begs the question, “What is the end goal of this joint venture?”

An Accelerated Transition to Electric Vehicles

Simply put, the ultimate goal of this program is to foster an accelerated transition to electric vehicles. Unsurprisingly, this is an incredibly complex mission; as such, there are several smaller tasks to complete as a part of this extensive and multi-point process. First, GM and its partners will install at least 30,000 high-powered charging stations in urban and highway locations. In doing so, they hope to ensure as much charging accessibility as possible for all types of EV owners.

As a testament to their inclusiveness, these upcoming charge points will offer both Combined Charging System (CCS) and North American Charging Standard (NACS) connectors – making them usable for every EV on the market today. Lastly, all contributing parties are dedicated to providing the public with an exceptional customer experience. Therefore, the network will provide unparalleled reliability, state-of-the-art charging capability, seamless digital integration, countless appealing locations, various amenities while charging, and, naturally, use renewable energy. Suffice it to say, GM and its partners have truly thought of everything.
