2025 Sierra EV More Range and Lower Cost Model

The all-electric pickup truck market is just heating up, thanks in part to vehicles like the GMC Hummer EV. Now, the newest truck on the block, the GMC Sierra EV, is ringing in the new year with more range and features without beating up your wallet. The GMC Sierra EV first debuted in 2024 with the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, which had 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque, a maximum range of 440 miles, a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs, and a max payload of 1,450 lbs.  

For 2025, GMC says the Sierra EV Denali will have an increased driving range of up to 460 miles, a 20-mile boost. GMC says this is partly to do with performance adjustments from the motors. The Sierra EV is available with either an Extended Range or Max Range battery pack. A Sierra EV Extended Range has an EPA-estimated 390 miles. GMC also said that the 2025 model will be able to tow an extra 500 lbs, giving it a 10,500 lb towing capacity when properly equipped. 

The 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali Max Range will run just $1,000 more than the 2024 model at $100,495. However, the Extended Range model actually costs a decent amount less at just $91,995. Both prices include a $2,095 destination fee. Whether you choose the Extended or Max Range Sierra EV Denali, both trucks produce 760 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque.  

The Sierra EV also has four-wheel steering, which gives the large EV truck an amazing turning radius of just 42.2 feet. With an air-ride suspension system, the Sierra can be raised and lowered by up to 2 inches. The MultiPro MidGate is also a welcomed feature of the new truck. It gives a maximum loading length of almost 11 feet with the MidGate down and the MultiPro Tailgate’s load stop open. The bed in normal use is 5 feet 11 inches. 

GMC has worked hard to perfect fast charging in the Sierra EV. With an 800 Volt Level 3 DC fast charger, the EV GMC can add 100 miles of driving in just 10 minutes of charging, thanks to its 350 kW charging capability. That proves that electric vehicles are quickly catching up to how quickly gas-powered cars can add fuel.  

Early on in 2025, GMC will release the Sierra EV Elevation and AT4 trim levels with a lower starting price, and there is room for a base model that will, according to the truck manufacturer, cost around $50,000.
